Cat hotels in Shah Alam start at RM39 a night at Cattopia in Section 9 for one cat, RM40 at OnlyCats in Glenmarie for one adult cat, and RM50 at Catzonia in Section 13 for a room that holds up to three cats, with the base price covering two. In Subang Jaya, Pets Grooming Hotel (PGH) in Main Place Mall, USJ 21, charges RM35 a night for a 3 ft by 3 ft Deluxe Room and RM60 for a 6 ft by 6 ft Presidential Room, with cat day care at RM15. Maobulous in SS18 starts at RM35 for one cat. Without traffic, PGH is about 15 minutes from Section 13 and Kota Kemuning and about 20 minutes from Section 7. A Shah Alam hotel is closer for most Shah Alam homes. A Subang hotel suits owners who work in Subang or USJ, also have a dog to board, or want their cat groomed before going home. How much does it cost for one cat, or for two?
For one cat, the lowest published nightly prices are RM35 at PGH and Maobulous, RM39 at Cattopia and RM40 at OnlyCats.
For two cats from the same home, Cattopia's Classic Room comes to RM49 (RM39 plus RM10) and Catzonia's Comfy room is RM50 for both. At PGH two cats from the same home can share a Presidential Room. Ask for the sharing rate when you book.
For three or more cats, the Shah Alam hotels have the most choice. Cattopia's suites take up to 12 cats and Catzonia's Super VIC up to 10.

When does a Subang cat hotel make sense for a Shah Alam owner?
- You work in Subang Jaya, USJ or Puchong. Drop your cat off on the way to work.
- You also have a dog. PGH boards dogs and cats under one roof, in separate rooms. Cats never share play time with dogs.
- You want your cat groomed before going home. At PGH a boarding cat can be groomed on the last day of the stay. See cat grooming.
- You want a mall drop-off. Main Place Mall has covered parking, a pick-up jockey area and 24-hour security.
If none of these applies, a hotel in Shah Alam saves you the drive.
What should I check before booking any cat hotel?
- Room size and who shares it. Cats from different homes should never share a room. International Cat Care advises individual units, with only bonded cats from the same home together.
- Vaccination rules. PGH accepts any combination vaccine, with no minimum gap before check-in. Maobulous asks for a vaccination within 12 months, deworming within 3 months and flea treatment within 1 month.
- Flea treatment. PGH applies Advantage to every cat at check-in, RM25 to RM35 by weight.
- Updates and night cover. Ask how often you get photos, and who checks the cats at night.
