Pet boarding: school holidays and CNY 2027
When to book a pet hotel for the December 2026 school holidays and Chinese New Year 2027 in Subang Jaya, what a week costs, and what to sort out before check-in.

The two busiest stretches for pet hotels in Subang Jaya are coming up close together. Schools in Selangor are on holiday from Saturday 5 December to Thursday 31 December 2026, and Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027. If you are travelling for either, book your pet's room as soon as your dates are fixed, because many families book the same weeks. At PGH in USJ 21, rooms cost RM35 a night for cats and RM50 a night for dogs in a Deluxe Room, or RM60 and RM80 in a Presidential Room. A seven-night stay comes to RM245 for a cat and RM350 for a dog in a Deluxe Room. Bookings are confirmed only on full payment in advance, payments are non-refundable, and different conditions may apply during peak seasons, so confirm the price and dates on WhatsApp before you pay. Check-out is by 7pm the day after your last night.
When are the school holidays and Chinese New Year?

The school dates come from the Ministry of Education's 2026 academic calendar. Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu (Group A) break one day earlier. In 2026 the Ministry added three extra school days off around Chinese New Year. Check your child's school for the 2027 festive break before you book flights.
How early should I book a pet hotel for the holidays?
Book as soon as your travel dates are fixed. No pet hotel can promise a room will still be free closer to the date. Some general guidance:
- December school holidays: many families travel around Christmas and New Year's Eve, so book those nights first.
- Chinese New Year: many families go back to their hometowns from the eve of Chinese New Year (Friday 5 February) through the first weekend, so book those nights first.
- A pet hotel holds a room only when the booking is confirmed. At PGH that means full payment in advance. A WhatsApp message asking about dates does not hold a room.
If you have two pets from the same home, ask about sharing rates when you book. PGH offers them on request.

What should I sort out before check-in?
Do these in the weeks before you leave, not on the morning you fly:
- Vaccination record. Pets need at least one combination vaccine (any 7-in-1, 8-in-1 or 9-in-1 for dogs). A photo of the record is accepted. If your pet is due for a booster, the clinics get busy before the holidays too. Our pet hotel vaccination rules explain what is accepted.
- Fleas and ticks. PGH may decline a pet that arrives with fleas, ticks or mites, so treat them before the stay. See how to get rid of cat fleas and dog ticks.
- Food for the whole stay. Bring your pet's own food, measured out, plus a day extra. A sudden change of diet upsets most stomachs.
- Medication with written instructions. Label the dose and the time.
- A groom before or after. A clean, mat-free coat is more comfortable for a long stay. Ask for a groom at the start or the end when you book.

What if my flight gets in late or I come back on a Monday?
Check-out is by 7pm the day after your last night, and day care also checks out by 7pm. If your flight lands in the evening, book one more night so you are not racing to collect before closing.
PGH's regular hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm. Monday is by appointment only. If you are coming back on a Monday, which is common after a long weekend, arrange the collection time when you book. Ask on WhatsApp for the Chinese New Year opening days, since festive hours can differ from the regular week.
Is a first long stay a good idea over the holidays?
If your pet has never boarded, try a night or a day of day care a few weeks before the holiday. It lets them learn the room, the smells and the staff before a long stay at the busiest time of year. Day care at PGH is RM15 for cats and RM35 for dogs, collected by 7pm.
While you are away, ask for photo or video updates on WhatsApp, and the team will send them during the stay.
